President’s Day is on Monday and there are several offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Greene County Courthouse, Greene County ISU Extension Office, Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library and the Jefferson Post Office will be closed in observance of the holiday. Library staff says nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday. 

Jefferson city staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed one day because of President’s Day. Monday’s routes will be picked up on Tuesday. Tuesday’s garbage will be collected on Wednesday. Then Wednesday’s routes will be done on Thursday. Garbage routes will go back to normal schedules the following week.
