The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in session Thursday.
The Board heard from the Guthrie County Fair Board. The Fair Board is looking to replace some lighting at the fairgrounds, and they also are looking to relocate the old school house, as it’s the only building on the grounds that is in a flood plain area.The Board then heard from Public Health, Environmental Health and Transfer Station Manager Jotham Arber, who introduced them to the county’s mental health therapist.
The Board approved a fireworks permit for the Lake Panorama Association, and set a public hearing date for the 2022-23 Fiscal Year Budget Amendment #1 for March 7th. They also heard an update from Sheriff Marty Arganbright. Two deputies are taking mental health training in West Des Moines, while another is going through hostage negotiator school. Arganbright added that the two new Chevrolet Tahoes that the department ordered are in, and another truck that had been ordered is on its way.
