The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Thursday.

During reports, Supervisor Pete Bardole mentioned the multi-cultural navigator position was discussed at a recent Greene County Development Corporation meeting earlier this week. He said there’s still lots of questions to be answered such as what the salary should be, what organization would this position be under, the job responsibilities, among others. It was mentioned that this position would possibly be associated with the Greene County School District.

Philip Heisterkamp then addressed the Board. The Supervisors requested Heisterkamp to discuss the funding aspects of the Bell Tower Festival. He is hoping to start the festival with at least $20,000 and he had asked the Supervisors for $5,000 as his budget request. Following the discussion, the Board felt more comfortable with how the funding operated within the festival.

The Board then approved to increase part-time emergency medical technician (EMT) Jamie Brenner with the ambulance department to $12 per hour. They also approved the family farm credit disallowance as presented, and set a public hearing for March 13th at 9am for the maximum property tax levy for the next fiscal year.
