The Perry Police Department reminds residents and travelers that there will be an influx of people in Perry for the Bike Ride To Rippey today.

Police Chief Eric Vaughn says this morning Willis Avenue from First to Second will be closed on the northside of the street and possibly the southside depending on the number of riders. Vaughn cautions motorists to be aware because there will be a large increase of people in downtown Perry into the afternoon.

“It’s not really the time of year where they were looking out for bicyclists so much. So, you know, you’ve got to put that hat back on and think about summer. But yeah, there’s going to be a lot of bicyclists in town. They’re going to be all throughout town, too, because they park in different spots. Maybe they’re parking at a friend’s house and riding their bike down to the downtown area or whatever. But the biggest bike traffic is going to be right in the downtown area.”

Vaughn reminds folks that the BRR ride will start at 10am and the route will begin  at the Hotel Pattee and it will go up Second to Pattee Street and then to Third Street up to Park Street to head north out of town on Highway 141.
