08/20 At 8:31 am, the sheriff investigated criminal mischief to a mailbox in the 1800 Block of 170th Street that had firecrackers set off inside it
At 9:02 am, a deputy investigated criminal mischief to picnic tables at Squirrel Hollow Park
At 9:46 am, a deputy checked the report of a suspicious vehicle in the 1100 Block of 220th Street where the driver was going door to door selling children’s books, the vehicle was not located
At 10:46 am, a deputy conducted a welfare check in Grand Junction and found the residents to be all right, just that they disconnected their telephone due to finances
At 10:50 am, a deputy investigated the theft of gasoline from Casey’s in Grand Junction. A resident had purchased $10 in gas the previous night and didn’t have any money so he left his driver’s license with the store. Deputy contacted him and left a message to get the matter taken care of
At 1:35 pm, Janon L. Olson, 41, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail serving a partial domestic abuse-assault sentence
At 3:47 pm, the sheriff checked the report of a suspicious vehicle at K Avenue and 120th Street that had been sitting there for several hours. It was found to be the same vehicle the deputy had checked on earlier in the day. The driver was checked and did have a permit to sell door to door.
At 4:00 pm, Kaleb L. Lentz, 18, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Driving While Barred, charge filed by a deputy in Grand Junction on 08/16, he was booked and released O/R per warrant
At 5:05 pm, a deputy investigated criminal mischief to a mailbox in the 1300 Block of 120th Street that had firecrackers set off inside it
At 5:30 pm, a deputy checked careless driving in Grand Junction but did not locate the vehicle
At 5:55 pm, a deputy investigated criminal mischief to the screen door handle of a house in the 2100 Block of Neola Avenue
08/21 At 10:09 am, a deputy checked the report of a dog running at large in Grand Junction and located the dog and its owner
At 5:12 pm, a deputy investigated a domestic dispute in the 230 Block of 210th Street, possible charges are pending
At 5:21 pm, a deputy investigated a dog bite in Grand Junction, A stray dog bit a young child on the diaper with no injury reported. The dog was taken to the PAWS shelter
At 9:18 pm, a deputy picked up emergency blood from a Carroll County deputy and transported it to the GCMC
At 9:49 pm, a deputy received the report of a possible telephone scam from a rural resident who advised the caller told them they had won six million dollars and a new car but they wanted the resident to send $400 using a Walgreen’s prepaid credit card The resident knew the call was scam
At 10:02 pm, a deputy received a call from a Scranton resident advising a family member was in need of assistance but upon checking the family member was fine. The caller did not know who had made the call
At 10:04 pm, a deputy checked the report of a bicyclist riding east of Churdan on Hwy 4 with s small taillight that was hard to see but they were not located
08/22 At 12:16 am, a deputy investigated a civil dispute between subjects in Grand Junction
At 8:14 am, a deputy assisted with cattle out at 220th and U Avenue
At 10:54 am, a deputy assisted Carroll PD by checking for a vehicle that had been taken without the owner’s consent
At 9:58 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash at 235th east of Q Avenue where a vehicle struck raccoon. Emily A. Jacobsen, 16, of Perry was eastbound on 235th in a 2007 Ford Focus when she struck the raccoon causing an estimated $450 in damages
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
