The Adair-Casey / Guthrie Center FFA Chapter is working with the cafeteria at the high school to help them out.

Before winter break, agronomy students worked with nutritional staff to come up with a way for the FFA and ag students to help produce greens for school lunch to help reduce costs for the school. AC/GC FFA recently announced that they had been able to get a FlexFarm, a system that helps students acquire new knowledge and skills, and aligns with the goal of reducing cost of food.

The system has the capability to produce 20 pounds of food in 28 days. Students will also be able to learn about hydroponics, which allows them to grow plants without using soil, or planting in the ground.
