Greene County Development Corporation has been selected to be on a panel during tomorrow’s SMART Conference in Des Moines.
Greene County Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says this conference is looked at as the leading conference for economic development in the state.
He talks about why GCDC was chosen to be on one of the panels for Thursday’s event.
“We’ve been asked to be on a panel to talk about successful rural counties. They seem to think that we’re doing some good things in our county and we’re kind of getting recognized for that so they’ve asked us to talk about some of our programs, how we did it and why its working and once again it’s kind of a compliment to have us involved in that.”
Paxton will be on the Main Street Iowa and Successful Community Entrepreneurial panel along other programs like Mulholland Grocery in Malvern, Mason City Micro Enterprise Entrepreneurial and the community development director from Belle Plaine.
Other activities at the conference includes remarks from Governor Terry Branstad and Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds, Debi Durham with the Iowa Economic Development Authority and various workshops and how to grow economic development.
The conference will be at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center in Des Moines.
