Parents of children entering kindergarten this fall are invited to a Kindergarten Health Clinic next week in Jefferson.
Greene County School Nurse Ann Hicks says the services and screenings that will be offered for kindergarten-aged youth are vision, dental, hearing and lead risk screenings, hemoglobin tests, immunizations if needed, blood pressure readings and height and weight measurements.
She comments that this is a great way for students to get these types of check-ups done before next school year. Hicks points out that these services are screenings only to identify if a follow examination is necessary with your regular physician.
It will be from 1:30-5:30pm on Wednesday, May 7th at the Jefferson-Scranton Elementary School. Hicks notes that parents should call the school to set up an appointment which should take about an hour.
All providers are donating their time and staff to be at this free event.
Donations are accepted to help cover costs of supplies used for the clinic.
Call Jefferson-Scranton Elementary to set up an appointment at 386-3178.
