Governor Kim Reynolds recently announced new funding for Future Ready Iowa Summer Youth Internship Programs.
The $379,000 grant supports the creation of internship opportunities for Iowans aged 14-24 that will help prepare them for careers that are in high demand. Eligible applicants include non-profits, educational institutions, employers and community organizations.
The target audience that Future Ready Iowa is trying to reach with these programs are high school youth who are at risk of not graduating, youth from low-income households and youth from communities that are underrepresented in the Iowa workforce. Funds from the grant can be used for services and resources that support internship programs, including direct participant wages, training resources and more.
Applications for the grant will open on Monday and must be turned in on IowaGrants.gov by noon on February 28th.
