Greene County dropped two Heart of Iowa Activities Conference basketball games in Story City on Friday night to Roland-Story in action heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. The girls final was 60-25 and the R-S boys won 72-48.

The R-S girls led 26-4 early in the second quarter before being ahead at halftime, 32-13. It was 39-18 at the end of the third quarter. Emma Hoyle led the Rams with eight points and aggravated a December ankle injury with 4:12 remaining in the contest. Claire Truesdell had 18 points and 16 by Madi Bauer led R-S. The Norsemen are 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the conference while the Rams fell to 0-13, 0-8.

The R-S boys are 11-1 overall and 8-0 in conference play while the Rams fell to 5-8 on the season and 4-4 in HOIAC action. A 27-13 lead at the half by the third ranked team in Class 2A grew to a game high 24 in the final seconds. The Rams cut the deficit to 50-41 after a 17 point third quarter by the Rams Richard Daugherty who led all players with 24 points. He made five of his seven three-pointers in the third quarter. Luke Patton led the home team with 19 points and Ben Greenfield had 14.

The Rams are off until Tuesday when they go to Jewell to face the South Hamilton teams on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
