The Highway 30 Coalition met briefly on Thursday in regular session via Zoom.
President Adam Schweers said the initial design and cost estimates to make Highway 30 from Lisbon to DeWitt and Ogden to Carroll four lanes is expected to be done by engineering firm Snyder and Associates by next week. Schweers mentioned that once those documents have been reviewed and any final edits are done, the final report will be submitted by the first week of February. Following that, Schweers said he will present the full report to the governor’s office, Iowa Economic Development Authority and the Iowa Department of Transportation.
Schweers added the economic impact study that was done by Snyder and Associates about the current two-lane portions of Highway 30, Lisbon to DeWitt and Ogden to Carroll, and how making it a four lane would be beneficial will be available to review next month.
