The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During reports, Central Iowa Community Services CFO Patti Treibel-Leeds talked about a new child mental health treatment facility that is being built in the region, along with contracting with an agency in Boone to be used as a drop-in center for adults who have mental health issues.
Next, the Board heard an update from Jefferson City Administrator Mike Palmer. He talked about the new Greene County Animal Shelter being open and how they are working on installing a keyless entry system for law enforcement to bring in animals that they pick up. He also mentioned that a seven member advisory board is currently being developed.
The Board then approved the county recorder’s quarterly report of fees and the county auditor’s quarterly passport report as presented. They also reviewed the 2024 fiscal year insurance estimates and took no action following the discussion. Finally, the Board heard 2024 fiscal year budget proposals from county environmental health and the sheriff. They took no action following each proposal and they will further review the sheriff’s proposal due to the sheriff responding to a call for service during the meeting.
