A farm family in Scranton was recently recognized for their cattle beef operation.

Robbins Land and Cattle, owned by Justin and Lacie Robbins, earned the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association’s Outstanding Commercial Producer of the Year. They raise about 200 head of purebred Angus and commercial cows, and also finish about 75 head per year in their feedlot. The Robbins family, including their son McKinley, are part of a cooperator herd with two ranches in the western US and they primarily purchase bulls from those locations. The Robbins also raised their own bulls and have hosted seedstock sales on their farm.

Justin serves as the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association District 8 Director and as part of the ICA Membership Committee and Foreign Animal Disease Committees. He has also been on the Greene County Cattlemen’s Association Board since 2014 and is the current president.

This past year, the Robbins were recognized as the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association Regional III Environmental Stewardship Award winner.
