The Greene County Rams are scheduled for high school track and field hosted in Woodward by Woodward-Granger starting at 4:30 p.m. today. The coed event will be the first meet in eight days for the Greene County girls, but the Rams sent their boys’ squad to Carroll last Thursday for the Tiger-Knight Relays.

The Greene County boys were a bit short handed at Carroll due to injury and illness and head coach Dean Lansman is hoping his team is on the mend. It remains to be seen if the Greene County boys will try to run full strength tonight, which would seem more unlikely if the weather is wet, windy, or cool.

Girls’ head coach Kelly Simpson hasn’t seen his full team compete since the Ram Relays in Jefferson on April 21. The shuttle hurdle relay unit was in action Saturday morning at the Drake Relays in Des Moines, where they fell over hurdles twice and were timed in 1:16.12. Greene County was thirdteenth and not last in the 16-team field at Drake because three teams were disqualified.
