The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn School Board in their latest meeting decided to not offer the early retirement incentive for this school year.

Superintendent Greg Dufoe says that the school district is not in the position to offer an early retirement incentive for their employees. Dufoe points out they will limit their discussion on the subject on a yearly basis.

Right now with the challenges that all Iowa (school) districts are having in retaining employees. It just doesn’t seem like the right strategy right now to provide additional incentive for people to retire. So that’s a tough one for us. But we’ll discuss it again next year at this time.”

He says the Board has targeted December or January of next school year to look at the item again.
