The Jefferson Fire Department responded to a field fire at 1931 Q Avenue this afternoon.

While a cause has yet to be determined, fire crews were out putting down water around the perimeter of the fire which spread quickly due to the high wind gusts.

The fire spread to the north, east and south of the property crossing a low creek bed and out to a gravel road.  The fire poses no threat to the motoring public.
