The new Guthrie County Attorney Dana Minteer is excited to get started in the position.

Minteer tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she’s always wanted to go into law practice. She points out her beliefs and support of law enforcement helped guide her towards prosecution. She adds some other learning experiences helped solidify her decision to practice law.

“Prosecution was something that I was more interested in. I did internships with the Polk and the Story County Attorney’s Offices, and those really helped me confirm that prosecution was something that I wanted to pursue.”

Minteer mentions that she and the previous Guthrie County Attorney Brenna Bird were able to get in touch with each other, and that was when she found out that the position would open for the 2022 General Elections. She says she thought it would be a good opportunity and is excited to be of service to the county.
