Tuesday morning before the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors meeting, newly elected and re-elected officials for the county were sworn in by District 5A Court Judge Stacy Ritchie.

There are seven officials that were sworn in, including four for the Guthrie County Board of Supervisors. The new District 1 Supervisor J.D. Kuster was the only re-elected supervisor, and the new District 2 Supervisor Brian Johnson was the only one in an uncontested race. New District 3 Supervisor Maggie Armstrong tells Raccoon Valley Radio why she decided to run for the position.

“Well, I decided to run for Guthrie County Supervisor because I was raised here in Guthrie County, and this is where I’ve chosen to make a home for my family. I’ve said this before, but I am passionate about Guthrie County, and I’m committed to the hard work that it takes to make sure all of our communities are successful.”

New District 4 Supervisor Steve Smith says he’s ready to help the county.

“It appealed to me, just in looking at Guthrie County and needs that we have, and the future that Guthrie County is looking at down the road. I feel like I would like to be part of that.”

The other officials that were sworn-in included County Attorney, Recorder and Treasurer. A full list of the newly elected and re-elected officials can be found below.
