Dec. 19

David Weiser, Minburn, was driving on N Ave at 205th Street, when Rose Andrews, Minburn, entered the intersection and Mr. Weise was unable to stop or avoid a collision.  No injuries were reported and damage to Mr. Weiser’s vehicle was estimated at $1000.  Damage to Ms. Andrews car was estimated at $2000.

A vehicle owned by Maria Lopez Vargas, North St. Paul, Mn, was wrecked in the median near the Woodward exit on Hwy 141.  The accident was reported by Iowa DOT workers.  Ms. Lopez Vargas advised by phone that she gave the vehicle to a friend to drive while in Iowa.  No further information is available at this time.  Damage to the median and bridge bumpers was estimated at $5000.  Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $10000.  No injuries are known.

Dec. 21

A minor driver, was driving on Minburn Road at Lexington Road, when the driver lost control on the snow and ice, going around the corner.  The driver hit a tree in the ditch.  There were no injuries reported and damage was estimated at $10000.  The vehicle was driven from the scene by the driver’s father.

Alexander Johnson, Dallas Center, was driving east in the 32000 block of Hwy 44 when he lost control on the snow and his vehicle slide sideways.  When it slid sideways, it was struck by a vehicle driven by Michael Robertson, Grimes, who was following Mr. Johnson on Hwy 44.  All occupants of the vehicles were checked by EMS, but declined any further treatment.  Damage to Mr. Johnson’s vehicle was estimated at $5000.  Damage to Mr. Robertson’s vehicle was estimated at $5000Mr. Johnson was issued two citations for No Valid Driver’s License and Failure To Provide Proof Of Insurance.

Dec. 22

Brady Caldwell, age 18, 712 State St, Dexter, was arrested for Driving While Barred, Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia, Failure To Affix Drug Stamp, Possess Of Controlled Substance and 2 counts of Controlled Substance Violation. He was also cited for Failure To Provide Proof Of Financial Liability, Person Under 21 Using Tobacco Product, Dark Window Or Windshield, and Driving While License Under Suspension.

Dec. 23

Thomas Lilley, age 50, 905 Bryan St, Adel, was arrested on a warrant for Obstructing Prosecution Or Defense and Possession Of Controlled Substance.

Jowlene Mason, age 31, 4076 Indianola Ave, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original Charge was Theft 3rd Degree.

Travis Turner, age 27, 2120 Grand Ave, West Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Violation Of Probation.

Esteban Maradiaga, age 27, was arrested on a warrant for Sex Offender – Registration Violation.

Jeffrey Mahowald, Lakeville, Mn, was driving on I80 near the 105 Mile Marker, when he lost control and ran into the cable barriers.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $8000.  The vehicle will be towed from the scene at a safer time.  Mr. Mahowald was cited for Failure To Maintain Control.

Michael Weber, Adel, was traveling in the 16000 block of Old Hwy 6 when he struck a deer.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $3000.

Dec. 24

Megan Runde, age 43, 3207 Crocker St, Des Moines, was arrested on a warrant for Failure To Appear.  The original charge was Driving While License Denied, Suspended, Cancelled Or Revoked.

Sean Teske, age 51, 17 River Vista Dr, Adel, was arrested for Driving While License Denied Or Revoked.

Dec. 25

Christopher Keeran, Redfield, was driving near 31478 Puckerbrush Road, when he lost control of his truck and crashed into the ditch, hitting two utility poles and a fence.  Mr. Keeran left the scene before law enforcement arrived and declined any medical treatment over the phone.  Mr. Keeran was cited for Failure To Maintain Control.  Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $20000.  Damage to property was estimated at $500.

Dec. 26

Matthew Halling, Perry, entered the intersection at Otley Ave and 1st Ave in Perry.  When he did, he was struck by a vehicle driven by Edgart Tojin, Perry.  No injuries were reported and damage was estimated at $5000 to Mr. Halling’s vehicle.  Damage to Mr. Tojin’s vehicle was estimated at $3000.  Damage to a stop sign was estimated at $300.

Austin Swigart, age 33, 1919 Warford St, Perry, was arrested for Possession Of Controlled Substance and Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia.  He was also cited for Operating Non-Registered Vehicle.

Sean Dorrian, age 61, 395 4th St, Waukee, was arrested for Contempt – Violation Of No Contact Order.
