The Dallas County Conservation is encouraging people to join them in the wilderness to search for owls. 

The Owl Prowl event will take place from 1 to 3pm on Wednesday at the Voas Nature Area in Minburn. Outreach Coordinator Sarah Gilchrist says they will be locating owls by hiking off-trail and mimicking their calls. 

“The program is from 1 to 3pm and that’s when the more unusual owls are actually found out roosting in the cedar trees. And so you’ll go with a naturalist, going off-trail, and looking for signs of owls and finding those more unusual ones.”

The event does require registration which can easily be done by contacting the Dallas County Conservation Department.
