The Dallas Center-Grimes basketball teams will take on a Central Iowa Metro League opponent before winter break at home tonight.
The Lady Mustangs will kick off things first when they play the Lady Dragons from Johnston at 6:15pm on the Meadows Gymnasium floor. Johnston currently sits at the top of the CIML with an undefeated (8-0) record with quality wins over Valley High School, Ankeny and Ankeny Centennial. The Dragons will rely heavily on their Junior Guard/Forward Aili Tanke, who is averaging 17 points and 9 rebounds. She is first in the CIML in three pointers made and Johnston leads the league in most points per game with 63. The Lady Mustangs will look to keep their seven game winning streak alive after a Saturday win over Center Point-Urbana (48-21).
Following the girls game the Dallas Center-Grimes boys basketball team will take the floor against Johnston. The Mustangs will look to carry their two game winning streak in to winter break and the Dragons will look to end a two game losing skid. DCG shot the ball well in a close victory against Oskaloosa 67 to 61 with Hudson Ehlert providing 14 points of production.
You can catch the game on Raccoon Valley Radio.com under the KDLS-2 tab with the action starting at 5:45pm.
