All Winter sports in the Greene County schools have been negatively affected by illness, injury, and other factors keeping athletes off the mats and courts. Activities Director Dave Wright told Raccoon Valley Radio he’s hoping the corner has been turned and teams will soon return to full strength. “The wrestlers go to Carroll on Saturday and they should have the guys back that haven’t been able to wrestle so far this year, so they should get some help in the lineup from those guys.”

Coach Wright said it’s not just been the high school. “The middle school’s been hit hard with sickness as well. It’s that time of year, I guess, for that part of it.”

The Rams host I-35 (Truro), Saydel (Des Moines), and Nevada at 6 tonight in the high school gym in Jefferson for wrestling. Tomorrow night, it’s Greene County girl/boy varsity basketball in the high school gym hosting Perry.
