After some hard fought losses last week, the West Central Valley girls basketball team got things started off on a high note this week, with a big win over Paton-Churdan. The Wildcats trailed at the end of the first quarter, but outscored the Rockets the rest of the game, and came away with a 45-36 victory.
The team then traveled to Earlham Tuesday night, and played in a hard fought game against the Cardinals. The Wildcats had the lead at the end of the first quarter, but only scored 3 points in the second, going into halftime trailing 11-19. WCV scored 27 in the second half, but was unable to catch up, falling 38-45.
The boys team also played against Earlham on Tuesday. The Wildcats fought hard, but the 13-22 deficit at the end of the first was too large for the team to overcome, and with the Cardinals outscoring them in every quarter, the team fell in a 20 point loss, with a final score of 42-62.
