
Paton-Churdan
Glidden-Ralston visited Paton-Churdan on Tuesday night in Rolling Valley Activities Conference basketball. The Rockets won 61-55 in the boys’ game and the Wildcats won the girls’ contest by a final of 67-45.
P-C was ahead 29-26 at halftime of the girls’ contest, but G-R out scored the Rockets 41-16 in the second half. Paige Klocke poured in 30 points for G-R while senior Emma Stream had 21 to lead P-C and freshman Becca Anderson added 14 points. P-C fell to 0-5 on the season.
The Rockets picked up their first win to improve to 1-2 overall and in conference play. It was the first P-C victory for Coach Greg Jacobs, who is in his first season with the Rockets. Leading much of the way by 10-12 points, the lead shrunk to 57-53 with one minute left in the fourth quarter. Freshman Hunter Saffel sunk two big three throws to close it out. Senior Shaydon Thurman had 20 points and freshman Caden Stream added 19 for the Rockets.
The P-C teams are on the road at Woodbine this Friday night.
