The Dallas Center-Grimes girls basketball get a dominating against conference opponent and the boys team falls by 11 points on Friday night.

The Lady Mustangs defeated the Newton Cardinals (64-31) and improve (4-1) record. The team only allowd 13 points in the first half. Finley Fitzgerald led the way for the team scoring 24 points and Vanessa Bickford was able to add 16 points along with Emma Miner scoring 12. The DCG girls team will have another test today when they take on (3-1) Des Moines Christian at home in the DCG Meadows Gym.

The boys team fell in a tough conference matchup against Newton (65-54). The Cardinals led start to finish with their point guard Jake Ingle taking control of the game scoring 20 points. For the Mustangs the scoring came from Calix Cahill, Hudson Ehlert and Jonathan Howard which all finished with double digits. This was the first loss the DCG program suffered since February of the 2021-22 season. The Mustangs fall to (2-1) on the season and will face the Des Moines Christian Lions at 5pm today.
