Guthrie County HospitalGuthrie County Hospital Clinics have a new Child Passenger Safety (CPS) Technician on their staff to assist parents in ensuring their child restraints are used appropriately and installed in vehicles properly.

Registered Nurse Greg Opseth recently went through a four-day SafeKids Worldwide program to get his certification in car seat safety.  He will be certified for two years.

The program is sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

GCH Clinics officials say Opseth’s certification brings “increased access to services and programs dedicated to the safety of children” for Guthrie County parents.

If any area parents have questions or need assistance to be sure car seats are properly installed, Opseth can be reached at the GCH Clinics Pediatrics line by calling 641-332-3920.

Opseth is in the Stuart clinic on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, in Guthrie Center Tuesdays and in Panora on Thursdays.
