A 2018 criminal incident that happened in Jefferson involving a Nebraska man has been dismissed.

According to court documents, a Jefferson Police Officer tried to pull over a vehicle that was operated by 29-year-old Max Pfeffer on January 23rd for having a headlight that was out. Pfeffer refused to stop and a chase ensued. Officers lost sight of the vehicle and a short time later a Guthrie County Deputy found it in Bagley. A search of the area was conducted and they couldn’t find Pfeffer.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the vehicle Pfeffer was operating was stolen out of Omaha, Nebraska. Pfeffer was facing close to 20 traffic citations. Court documents show that the Greene County Attorney’s Office asked for the charges to be dropped because the case was more than one year old and a dismissal for this particular case was required by state law. Magistrate Judge Jessica Morton agreed to dismiss the case.
