The Perry School District recently congratulated one of their leaders. 

Perry Elementary School Principal Ryan Marzen earned his Doctorate in Education Degree from Drake University. Dr. Marzen successfully presented and defended his dissertation of the “Disproportionality in Race for Minority Teachers in a Flyover State.” Drake University’s Doctor of Education in Leadership degree is a three year program that studies leadership, theory, ethics, technology and research methods. 

Dr. Marzen is responsible for a pre-kindergarten through fifth grade student body of over 900 students with a staff of 100 members. In Marzen’s second year as the elementary principal they have been identified as a “high performing school,” from the Iowa Department of Education’s statewide assessments.
