US Congressman Zach Nunn
Iowa Congressman-Elect Zach Nunn is wanting to be a voice on several committees in the US House once he assumes the position in Washington, D.C..
Nunn tells Raccoon Valley Radio he is hoping to serve on the House Agriculture Committee which helps assist with the continuation of the 2023 Farm Bill. The Republican Bondurant native says that the Farm Bill is a priority in his first term in Congress.
“I’m very committed to making sure that we have a good Farm Bill here within the 118th Congress, one that prioritizes farmers, one that makes sure that farmers have sustainability, including things like good crop insurance. So when the unthinkable happens, whether it’s a derecho, a flood, some type of avian or animal flu that takes out a production facility, Iowa farmers know that they’re going to be supported by the country that they support.”
Nunn points out another committee he would like to be a part of is the Financial Services Committee. Nunn explains that they have to fix the rising debt spending in Iowa.
“We are in for a rocky boat of increased mortgages, higher interest rates, all self-inflicted things over the last two years. I think financial services gives us an opportunity to really help everyday Iowans.”
Congressman-Elect Zach Nunn will be sworn into office on January 3rd, 2023. Raccoon Valley Radio will continue to provide updates from Nunn throughout his term.
