Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community reminds everyone of a couple of special events happening this week.
Executive Director Matt Wetrich invites the public to a ribbon cutting for Heritage Insurance at their new location on the east side of the downtown square in Jefferson tomorrow at 10am. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio where Heritage Insurance is located is one of the buildings at the City of Jefferson took brief ownership of to restore it back to its historic look, which he believes should also be acknowledged.
“It’s kind of beyond celebrating Heritage Insurance’s spot, it’s just also a celebration of historic renovation and preservation even for that building, and that’s a big part of what makes Jefferson is that we have this four-sided, intact historic downtown This is a great example of one of the buildings that have done so.”
An open house will also be held tomorrow from 10am-4pm.
Wetrich notes another public event is this Friday with another Java and Juice for Mid-Iowa Insurance on the north side of the downtown square. It will be held from 9:30-10am. Everyone is invited to check out the business and learn about other community events that are coming up.
Both the ribbon cutting and open house for Heritage Insurance, as well as the Friday Java and Juice are free and open to the public.
