Tuesday night the West Central Valley School Board met in a special meeting.

The Board reviewed a proposal from the previous regular meeting, which was a quote from The Remi Group LLC and the Baker Group for a plan to work on building repairs for the district’s HVAC units to the tune of $538,158.57 per year. The proposed plan would allow Baker Group to help with preventative maintenance at all buildings owned by the district, and provide comprehensive coverage for work at the Dexter Elementary building, and the middle school building in Redfield.

The Board was given other proposals to view at the special meeting, to see what other options were available to them. One was an updated version of the previous proposal by The Remi Group LLC and Baker Group, that was priced at $1,021,142.87 per year. Baker Group also provided two other proposals, one for only preventative maintenance at all buildings, which would cost $201,572 annually, and one for both preventative maintenance and comprehensive coverage at all buildings for $652,798 annually, with the comprehensive coverage not covering pre-existing conditions.

The Board was then able to look at financial projections outlining the impact of paying any of the proposals from two different funding sources (the General Fund and Management Fund). The original proposal was approved, before Board members continued a discussion on the Facilities Supervisor position from the last meeting.
