Rural Scranton resident Matthew Fiedler is the co-founder of re:3D Incorporated, a NASA spin-off, with its mission to make new additive manufacturing technology available to people in developing countries. His company has 3D printing machines in 53 countries across the globe. Fiedler recently moved back to Greene County after 25 years to be on the family farm and will operate his company day-to-day remotely from Greene County.
Fiedler received a grant from the Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund for a one year membership to Gravitate Coworking in Jefferson. The fund was created as part of the Rural Return Grant through the Empower Rural Iowa Initiative. Additionally, there are local utilities, financial institutions and a Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation grant that supports this program.
Current and new remote workers in the county are eligible to apply for a grant from the Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund if they plan to use a space in Gravitate Coworking at least three times per week. So far three individuals have been awarded a grant, with the goal of reaching ten. Click the link below to access an application.
