There are a few days left for some Jefferson youth to put their creative writing skills to the test.
The Jefferson Public Library is hosting a Teen Writing Contest for grades 5th-12th. Teens are to select a wordless picture book from the children’s department and then write a story of their own. The style of the story can be anything including short stories, plays, among others. The stories can be handwritten or typed but entries must be submitted by November 30th to win a prize.
The contest is open to any 5th-12th grader and only one entry per person is allowed. Contact the children’s department at 515-386-4415 for more information.
