A public meeting will be held for anyone interested in pursuing a possible indoor pool in Jefferson.
The Jefferson Parks and Recreation Board is sponsoring a meeting this Thursday at 7pm at the Greene County Community Center. JPRD Director Denny Hammen says after the JPRD Board finished its feasibility study with OPN Architects, that this past September the Board decided they wanted to see community members take hold of this endeavor if the idea of an indoor pool is worth continuing to explore.
Hammen tells Raccoon Valley Radio OPN provided three scenarios of what an indoor pool could look like, along with cost estimates to build each structure that would be attached to the community center, and operational cost estimates.
“So I think they gave us enough information in order to decide whether this is something that this community could afford or could maintained if it was built. And that information there again it still open for the public, just call my office and we’d be glad to forward that study onto anybody that would like to see it.”
The meeting is open to the public and everyone is encouraged to attend to provide feedback and leadership for the direction of the possible indoor pool.
