The Panorama girls basketball team finished their first week of practice this past week. Coach Kylie Boettcher sat down with me to talk about the upcoming season.
The Panthers had a great 2021-22 campaign. Finishing the season with a 25-2 record. The impressive season was ended in the semifinal round of the playoffs. Coach Boettcher was asked about the expectations for the team this year. Coach Boettcher said, “We’re going to play a certain style. A lot of the girls, some of the girls haven’t played at the varsity level. They’re going to get an experience and a chance at that this year. And so, knowing that the difference between the speed of play. That’s going to be a fun expectation we’re having with the team.”
Coach Boettcher would continue, “We just graduated an amazing senior class. And not that we’re going to try and fill their shoes, we gotta find ways to continue to play the way and style that we want to play. Once again, building the expectation that we will find our groove and what we’re good at. It takes getting to know each other first.”
The Panthers will have a scrimmage next Tuesday against Keumper Catholic. They’ll tip off the season the following week, November 29 at home against Greene County.
