After Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center boys basketball had a very successful  2021 year going (17-5), Head Coach Lance Kading thinks they can accomplish similar if not more in 2022.

Coach Kading says a big loss will be Miles Kading who led just about every stastical category for AC/GC last year that includes averaging 19 points per game along with 6.5 rebounds per game and 4.7 assist per game. Kading says the three seniors coming back such as Ben Marsh, Brock Littler and Austin Kunkle can make up what Miles Kading left. Kading notes a big thing this year will be improving the team’s shooting percentage.

“We’ve got to shoot a little better percentage of shooting percentage. It’s not bad. But when we rely on jump shooting as much as we do, it needs to be better. It can always be better. And I think we’ve got pretty decent shooters. I think a lot of our issues sometimes come from shot selection, so we’ll be focused on that a lot. We want we want to space the floor. We want to attack the paint and shoot more kick out threes, you know, rather than one on one. Try to beat somebody off the dribble.

AC/GC boys basketball will get some preseason games in at the Elk Horn Jamboree on Nov. 22 and get the season started on Dec. 2 against conference opponent Woodward Granger.
