The Dallas County Supervisors held a special meeting Thursday. 

The Board approved an Administrative recount in the following precincts that include Adams/Colfax, Beaver/Des Moines, Lincoln/Washington/Linn the Clive 5 and Clive 6 precincts. Dallas County Auditor Julia Helm explains that both Adams/Colfax and the Beaver/Des Moines precinct had one ballot that could not be read through the machine and the tabulator was off by one vote in the Lincoln/Washington/Linn, Clive 5 and Clive 6 precincts. Helms says it was a total of four ballots between all those precincts that caused the problems. 

“I know sometimes people think one ballot isn’t worth it, but we want to make sure our numbers are clean. And when a poll worker asked me to do that precinct election official report something I want to follow up on it. So that’s why I’m calling this. And I plan on doing it Monday morning. I’d like if you guys are okay with that, because I’d like to get this cleaned up before your canvass.

Helms notes that they are reconvening the special precinct board on Monday to administer the recounts for the selected precincts. She adds that any changes to the results will be reflected on the Board of Supervisors canvass on Tuesday.
