RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program has several programs that they run themselves including in Guthrie County, like their Phone Friend program. But they also partner with other groups for projects as well.

One such group is Elderbridge Agency on Aging in Carroll, and together they offer an Errand Buddy program. RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program Director Michele Hull says that the two groups help with whatever errand the person may need to get done.

“So the Errand Buddies, it can be anything. It can be taking them to the grocery store if they want to go themselves. It could be going to the doctor’s office, it could just be going to the bank. Anything that you do on a daily basis for your errands.”

RSVP 55+ Volunteer Program Guthrie County Coordinator Mary Porter says that Elderbridge helps by providing transportation, and RSVP’s volunteers go with the person they’re helping to do their errand.
