The Panorama Panther girls basketball team has officially started practice this week. Head coach Kylie Boettcher sat down with me to talk about the Panthers.
The Panthers were 25-2 in 2021-22. It was no surprise given how successful the girls have been over the last few years for Panorama. When asked about the recent success, here’s what Coach Boettcher had to say. “A lot of the core girls. The ones that have been truly doing this at a very young age. Whether its attending our summer camps and our different activities in the offseason. Just being around it and building this culture of just wanting to be around each other. A lot of times the younger girls are looking up to the high school players. A lot these high school girls were those girls at one time.”
Coach Boettcher would continue, “Just building of a family. Just helps to create an environment. It was definitely before me that was started. I’m just lucky enough to continue it on. Even being a part of the program myself even as a player. Knowing that it is something bigger than the game. Playing and setting a standard for others to come, is pretty powerful.”
Panorama will have a scrimmage against Keumper Catholic on November 22nd. Their first game will be at home on November 29, against Greene County.
