The Adair-Casey/Guthrie Center football in another season under Head Coach Cody Matthewson proves that the Charger rushing attack is one of the best in Iowa.
In the 2021 season, the Chargers racked up close to 4,000 yards rushing which was best in the State for class 1A and this year AC/GC finished the year in second in total rushing yards with 3,200 yards. Head Coach Matthewson tells Raccoon Valley Radio Sports that this is a staple of the program.
“That’s what we take pride in and that’s what we practice every single day. And it’s just our M.O. So when you do something, you take a lot of pride. And that’s that’s something that, you know, the kids want to be they want to be in that top rushing attack. And that just speaks volumes for how well the kids buy in and they execute and they they take good coaching. ”
Brock Littler also surpassed 1,000 rushing yards this year with 15 touchdowns as Quaterback while leading the team to seven victories.
