Practices for the 2022-23 girls’ basketball season at Greene County High School began on Monday. Tori Ogden starts her second season as head coach. It’s not a squad big in numbers with 16 girls at the first practice, but all nine letter winners off the 3-19 team of last season are back.

The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio replacing the production and leadership of 2021-22 top scorer and rebounding Brianna Habben is a priority. Six seniors are on the team this season, which is the most from a senior class in some time.

“The girls are working very hard. The first couple of practices have been really good. We’d like like to see more girls out and we’re dealing with some injuries, not from basketball, but injuries nonetheless.” Coach Ogden added the JV team will only be play two quarters instead of four for the time being until some of the injured players return.
