Downtown Perry will have an annual art festival return after a two year hiatus that brings visitors from all over.

The Art On The Prairie Festival will take place in the many Perry downtown buildings on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and Sunday from 10am to 4pm. The festival celebrates art, music, literature and the joys of small-town living while creating more foot traffic in the eight historic buildings that include the Hotel Pattee, Security Bank Building, Perry Public and Carnegie Library, Town/Craft Center, Betsy Peterson Designs and La Poste. Art On The Prairie Vice President Lynsi Pussati says this festival will be a full weekend of visual art displays, live music, poetry readings and youth activities. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she expects thousands of visitors to be walking the streets of Perry.

People come from all over to enjoy this event. So just talking about the artists and the musicians that are coming. A lot of central Iowa artists and but some of them are coming from a couple of hours away just to come to this event to set up and sell their work. Some of them say that that’s their most favorite event throughout the whole year.”

The full schedule of activities during the 12 Annual Art On the Prairie Festival will be listed here with information regarding the artist, musicians, poets and activities.
