With Veterans Day coming up, many are remembering the sacrifices made by those that fought for the United States as well as those who currently serve and who have served.
Guthrie County Veterans Affairs Coordinator Beth Watson does what she can to help, in a variety of ways. Watson says that the Guthrie County VA Office helps the county’s veterans with claim processing at the county, state and federal levels. She can also arrange assistance with information regarding claims, transportation and appointments of all kinds.
Watson mentions that the VA Office also provides a program for individuals that are hearing impared, where they can use a phone that will show the words of the person on the other end of the line. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that she partners with Elderbridge in Carroll for work with medical documents. There are some things that her office may not be equipped for, but Watson will do whatever she can to help Guthrie County’s veterans.
