The Perry School District implemented a system to keep track of students and improve safety
Superintendent Clark Wicks says they started using a tracking system on every bus in the district. Wicks says the tracking device implemented allows them to see when a student enters a bus as well as exits. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that each kid riding on a district bus has been issued a card.
“So our technology department developed those cards and then everybody has that. So when you get on the bus, you need to get that card swiped. It’s also used and can be used then for our nutrition system. And they’re thrilled with that too, because it’s much more efficient. And it tracks the nutrition much better, too.”
Wicks says this system will hopefully prevent any student on a bus from going missing and the dreaded phone from a parent wandering where their child is.
