The Guthrie County Roads Department was busy this year. Guthrie County Engineer Joshua Sebern said that the county started off their year with plans on working on some pipes and other construction projects, but heavy spring rains changed that. He said that after a quick regroup and re-equip, workers were back out to make sure gravel roads and road shoulders weren’t washed out.

Sebern told Raccoon Valley Radio that county workers were still working on those roads to get them ready for the winter months. He mentioned that once things started to dry up midsummer, they were able to get out and get more work done on other projects as well, including some work on larger culverts. Sebern said that with the continued dry weather, the county is continuing to work on some last minute projects.
