Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about the recently completed season. The Rams were 8-2 overall, top 10 rated, and went 5-0 in District 8. Coach Duncan was named the District Coach of the Year and 15 Rams received All-District recognition of some type with nine players getting first team honors in the district and five others being named to the second team.
“Our goals are always set very high and that will continue whether we stay in Class 2A or go up to 3A. We won’t lower our expectations regardless of who we play,” said the coach. Greene County had the ninth highest 2A enrollment this season, but fewer than 25 students separated the nine largest programs in 2A. The BEDS enrollment document compiled in October each year is the basis for sports classifications for the next school year. Greene County has more students in grades 9-10-11 for 2022-23 than in other recent school years. That current 9-10-11 enrollment will be used to determine football classes for the 2023 and ’24 seasons.
