With the end of October drawing closer, this is the last weekend that Greene County and surrounding residents have to take in a bird’s eye view of the county.
The Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower in Jefferson is open from 10am-4pm today and tomorrow, as the final time it will be open on a regular basis until next spring. However, Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Director Matt Wetrich says they will accept special requests for people who want to check out the tower during the “off season.”
“If you have a group coming to town, maybe you’ve got friends visiting, and want to get up there in November or December, give us a call at the Welcome Center. We can usually line somebody up, namely Pat Richards, she is a gem as we all know, and she’s usually very accommodating or can help find somebody to showcase the bell tower.”
Adult admission is $3 and kids 18 and younger are free. Contact the Welcome Center to arrange a day and time to visit the tower by calling 515-386-2155.
