This Sunday the City of Rippey will have lots of Halloween-related activities happening.

The festivities will begin at 5pm with seven volunteer organizations and individuals providing trunk or treat along Main Street for kids and families to walk by and receive candy. Then a free will donation meal will be served in the Rippey Community Room at 6pm, with a menu of beef brisket sandwiches, cheesy potatoes, green beans, desserts that are donated by the Rippey Library Board and a choice of iced tea, coffee or water. Additionally, there will be old fashioned kid’s games and pumpkin decorating.

Rippey Library Director Cara McCoy is excited for Sunday’s activities.

“Well I guess it’s nice to get out into the community and do these events, every once in a while to make sure, ‘Hey, we got a library, we’re here! We got things to check out, things to do at the library, and events going on. Just to make sure that the library is still here and wants to be a great part of the community.”

All proceeds from Sunday will be used for fireworks for next year’s Rippey Daze. Sunday’s event is sponsored by the Friends of Rippey, the Rippey Lions Club and the Rippey Library.
