Dallas Center – Grimes volleyball has officially come to a close last Tuesday night, as they fell to Cedar Rapids – Xavier and ended up with a 20-17 record.
The mustangs were able to record 904 team kills this year, with senior Haily Leinbach leading the way with 220. Sophomore Deja Jackson was second with 147 kills on the year, and sophomore Maliya Carlson behind her at 141 kills. The setter Jillian Janssen was the leader in assists at 752.
The team found 1,350 digs on the year, with Addy Janssen the junior 1st with 435. Jillian Janssen was able to be second with 198 total. Senior Sydney Meints was first in team blocks with 66 on the year.
195 aces were served from this group, with Haily Leinbach first with 39, and juniors Macee Reiling and Kalyn Mills tied for second with 37 aces.
DCG will be losing four seniors from their roster in Janssen, Meints, Madison Wennell, and Leinbach. They are projected to return some major players for next year’s team, as they will try to put together a solid 2023 year.
