A Dexter man was recently arrested after robbing a convenience store Tuesday evening.

According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office, deputies, along with the Iowa State Patrol, and the Guthrie and Adair County Sheriff’s Offices responded to a 911 call from the Casey’s General Store in Dexter at 8:13pm Tuesday. The store clerk told law enforcement that the store had been robbed and the suspect left on foot. The report showed the suspect, 21-year-old Phillip Dolezal, show a note indicating he had a gun, but no gun was displayed.

The State Patrol’s K-9 Unit aided in the search of Dolezal, which led to a home at 605 State Street in Dexter. During the investigation, a search warrant was executed at that residence and evidence related to the robbery was discovered and seized. Dallas County Deputies then arrested Dolezal, charging him with a Class C Felony for second degree robbery. Dolezal also had two warrants with the sheriff’s office for failure to appear in court on the original charges from unrelated incidents of a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia, as well as a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft and an aggravated misdemeanor for third degree theft.

Dolezal was booked and remains in the Dallas County Jail under a $5,000 cash or surety bond. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
